About
The Healthy Climate Future campaign is run by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), with the support of other medical colleges. Together we represent more than 100,000 doctors and are calling for a climate-ready and climate-friendly health system.
Our policy asks are based on research evidence. In 2021, the RACP worked with a group of medical colleges to develop a research report, titled Climate Change and Australia’s Healthcare Systems: A Review of Literature, Policy and Practice, on the risks of climate change to Australian healthcare systems and how best to manage these risks. The Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI) was engaged to develop the report in partnership with the Climate and Health Alliance (CAHA). The research report established evidence-based recommendations for Australian policymakers, health systems, health professionals and the communities they serve.
